When a tender to build a new Center Parcs site in Woburn was released, our client came to us for our design expertise. This was a new opportunity for our studios at the time – our previous clients had predominately been public sector bodies that are bound by rules of convention, which reduce the scope for design ingenuity. Our client, a private company with fewer restrictions, allowed Propeller’s talented design team to really flex its creative muscles.
The job was split into three areas of construction, with the largest being a £90m central building project. It was this element that our client was to bid for; they needed us to produce outstanding quality design material that would reflect their company’s credentials and abilities.
Propeller Account Director Jason commented,
“Our client came to us with just words. We had to take these words and transform them into a brand that would win the bid.”
Through strategic support, Propeller created a solid brand identity for our client. This consisted of streamlining the copy they had provided and collating all their company information, from method statements, CV’s, programme schedules and supporting evidence, into an exquisitely presented brand document. Due to time constraints, Propeller worked remotely; however, we ensured constant channels of communication so that our client was involved and in control throughout the process.
Our client was ecstatic to announce that, in no small part due to Propeller, they won the bid. The £93m contract includes construction of the buildings for the Subtropical Swimming Paradise, restaurants, spa, 75-bedroom hotel, sports hall, conference spaces, supermarket and other associated buildings. The project is due for completion in Spring 2014.
We have subsequently helped this client win a number of large scale projects, including Warner Bros.
