The Propeller bid response team has worked with this Nottingham-based contractor for over eighteen months, and has developed an in-depth understanding of the operation and ethos of the company. We work in close collaboration with this client’s Business Development team, and complete an average of three PQQs a month for contracts typically worth between £2 to £10m.
Before contracting Propeller’s bid response services, this client had achieved a success rate average of 61%. Propeller has worked proactively with this client to ensure it tenders for the right projects, and the company has now embraced bid / no bid procedures to ensure it only targets projects where it can demonstrate specific experience. As a result of this new philosophy, the client saw its PQQ success rate increase to 93% in 2013.

Methods of Working
We manage this client’s submissions with our EasyPQQ bid submission software, and over the past eighteen months, have developed a comprehensive database of case studies and past responses that can be utilised in future submissions.
The bid response team typically assists this client with selected quality elements of the PQQ. The client sets up the submission on EasyPQQ and forwards the supporting contract documentation to us. We review this to determine the precise project requirements, and to understand the ethos and expectations of the end client. We then facilitate workshops with the executive, pre-construction and delivery teams.
Based on this, and the responses to be provided, we issue an information request to identify case studies to be used, but also make recommendations based on our own knowledge of the client’s current customers, and an analysis of the specific requirements of the project.
Responses are then completed for the client to review and amend as required, with the addition of information which we have recommended and highlighted in our response.
As with all PQQs undertaken, we follow PAS-91 Pre-qualification Standards.
