Propeller Studios help Deborah Services land £150m deal

Propeller Studios are pleased to have supported Deborah Services Limited (DSL) on their recent five year, £150m contract win; making them the marine sector’s largest industrial services provider.

DSL, a subsidiary of Siteserv, will deploy an 800-strong team across facilities at Appledore and Devonport, as well as Rosyth, Faslane and Coulport as part of a new strategic partnership.

“This is a milestone contract for us and marks a transformation for our business in the UK, one of our key growth markets.” said Sean Corkery, Chief Executive Officer of Siteserv.

Propeller were engaged early on in the process as DSL identified this as a “must win” strategic contract. The initial stages involved a collaborative workshop to agree the overall bid strategy, the bid themes and to collate evidence; highlighting their focus on safety and continual improvement processes. We then supported them with the bid writing and the technical writing as well as the design of the submission.

DSL required their submission to have a powerful visual impact, but lacked the experience and resource in producing such bids. Propeller led the way, with their in-house design team, creating a professional looking submission with a number of bespoke graphics to support and complement the written content.

A spokesperson for the end client said: “DSL’s experience across multiple sectors, relentless focus on safety and commitment to innovation mean they are the right partner for now and into the future.”

As part of the project DSL will deliver several industrial services including access solutions, containment, blasting, priming, painting and large-scale industrial cleaning.

Managing Director of DSL, Chris Foulkes, said: “This is the biggest contract ever awarded to an industrial services provider in the UK within this sector.”
